Ambition should build your life, not quietly consume the person living it.

Ambition is supposed to be in service of the life, and it quietly reverses at some point without announcing it. The work grows, the person shrinks, and every reduction is justified as temporary. What makes it hard to catch is that each individual sacrifice is reasonable in isolation.

Check what has been temporarily suspended in your life and for how long. If something has been on hold for more than a year, it is not suspended, it has been given up. Decide deliberately whether that is what you want.
