Your work should eventually speak loudly enough that your mouth gets to rest.

Constant explanation is a sign that the work is not yet carrying itself, and the answer is usually more work rather than better explanation. Results that speak for themselves take longer to produce and require far less maintenance afterwards. The quiet is earned rather than adopted.

When you notice yourself making the case for your abilities again, redirect that energy into producing one more piece of evidence. Then let it sit. Talking less works only when there is something to point at instead.
