Ambition starts out willing to trade anything, which is part of what makes it effective and part of what makes it dangerous. It matures when a few things get taken off the table permanently, when you decide in advance what you will not spend regardless of the return. That list is what turns drive into judgment.
Write down two or three things you will not sacrifice. Be specific, so it can actually be applied. Then decide once, and stop reopening the question every time an opportunity makes a good argument.
What have you decided is never available for trade?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
