The word nobody can hide an empty room or a room full of people someone does not count.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Nobody is a word that quietly counts. Sometimes it means an empty room, and sometimes it means a room with people in it who do not register as people to the speaker, and the two uses sound identical. Who gets counted is decided before the sentence is spoken.

So listen for the word, in others and in yourself. Nobody came, nobody objected, nobody noticed. Ask whether that is true or whether it means nobody who matters to me. It is one of the plainest ways to catch yourself excluding people you had not intended to exclude.
