A braille label is a reminder that reading was never owned by the eye.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Reading is a matter of getting language into a mind, and the eye is only one of the available routes. Raised dots do the same job through the fingers, which makes plain that what we call literacy was never tied to a particular sense. The default is a convention rather than a definition.

That is worth extending to other defaults you have not examined. There is usually more than one way into a task, a conversation, or a building, and the standard one is standard because most people happened to use it. Asking what other routes exist tends to help more people than the one you were designing for.
