A clear process gives ordinary attention a better chance to produce good work.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Relying on people to be sharp is a fragile way to run anything. Everyone has tired days, distracted days, and days with three other things happening, and a system that only works when everyone is at their best will fail exactly when the pressure is highest. A good process moves the difficulty out of the individual moment: the step is written down, the check happens automatically, the default is safe.

Look at the thing that goes wrong most often in your week and ask what would have caught it. Build that in as a step rather than a resolution to be more careful.
