A quiet household can still need someone to ask whether its people are comfortable.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Absence of complaint is not evidence of comfort. In a calm house, people often manage their own discomfort privately: the room that is too cold, the arrangement that stopped working, the thing that has been quietly irritating for months. Nobody raises it because raising it would disturb the peace, and the peace is valued by everyone. So the house stays pleasant and slightly wrong for a long time.
Ask directly rather than waiting for someone to bring it up. Try a specific question, such as what would make this room work better for you. Ask it more than once, since the first answer is usually the polite one.
