The person who does the final check is protecting everyone’s earlier effort.

RESILIENCE
The final check is the least glamorous job and the only one standing between a great deal of work and an avoidable mistake. Because it sits at the end, it happens under time pressure, and whoever does it gets treated as an obstacle to finishing. What they are protecting is everybody else’s month. Being held up at the door is much cheaper than being wrong in public.
Build the check into the schedule rather than squeezing it into the last hour. Thank the person by name when they catch something, especially in front of whoever wanted to skip it.
Who catches the last mistakes in your work and hears nothing?
