A quiet hour beside a child can become meaningful without needing a special activity.

GRATITUDE
Time with a child gets planned as an event, on the assumption that attention has to be filled with activity before it counts. Much of what children take from adults arrives in the undramatic hours instead: reading in the same room, a drive, a job done side by side. Those are the hours when things get mentioned, precisely because nothing is being required. Presence is the material and the activity is only its container.
Set aside an hour with nothing in it and be available rather than busy. If a real conversation comes, expect it sideways and late.
When did you last sit beside a child with nothing planned?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
