Impatience gives away information. When you need something quickly, you reveal what you need, how badly, and what you will accept, and anyone negotiating against you now knows more than they should. The disadvantage is not in the position but in the hurry.

When you notice urgency, slow the exchange down rather than speeding it up. Ask for a day. What you keep to yourself in that day is often worth more than anything you would have said.
