Vague questions get vague answers, and much asking is really a way of signalling confusion in general rather than locating it. The work is in finding the exact place where your picture breaks, which is uncomfortable because it means admitting how specific the gap is. Once named, most gaps turn out to be small.
Before asking, write the sentence describing what you can already do and where it stops working. Ask about that seam. You will often answer yourself in the writing, and if not, the person helping needs a minute instead of twenty.
