A job offer deserves consideration of the ordinary week it will create.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

An offer arrives as a title, a number and a story about the future, none of which you will experience daily. What you will experience is a Tuesday: the commute, the meetings that repeat, who you speak to, when you eat, how you feel at six in the evening. A good week can hide inside a modest offer, and a bad one inside an impressive one.

Before deciding, write out an ordinary week in that role hour by hour, not the best week. Ask someone already doing it what Wednesday is usually like. Then judge the offer against the life it installs.
