Learn the conditions before blaming the plant for not meeting the picture.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

The picture came from somewhere with different light, different soil, and someone else’s climate. A plant that is struggling is usually giving accurate information about where it has been put, and reading that as its failure, or as yours, skips the only question worth asking.

Before you replace something that did badly, spend a week watching the actual conditions: how many hours of sun that corner really gets, how quickly it dries. Then choose a plant for the place you have rather than the one in the photograph.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What did you blame for failing before checking what it needed?
