Generosity that costs nothing looks the same in everyone. The kind that shows something is the kind you cannot easily justify afterward: leaving early to help, saying no to a thing you wanted so someone else could have it. There is no clean story to tell about those, which is exactly why they reveal the person.

Notice this week when you are about to choose the version of kindness that will be easy to describe. Then look at the other option, the one that would require explaining. You do not have to take it every time, but take it once and see what it tells you about yourself.
