Some lessons were always present; you simply became old enough to recognize them.

Some understanding cannot be received early, no matter how clearly it was stated. The words were available for years and simply had nothing to attach to. Then experience supplies the missing piece and the thing you already knew becomes something you actually know.

Be patient with the advice you cannot yet use, and with people who cannot yet use yours. Keep the ones that seem important. Some of them become legible later, without warning.
