A shared responsibility becomes lighter when noticing is shared along with doing.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Doing a task is the visible half; seeing that it needs doing is the half that wears people down. In most households and teams, one person holds the running awareness of what is low, late, dirty or due, and that awareness never switches off even when the physical work is split fairly. Being told what to do is far easier than deciding what needs to be done. Real sharing means someone else also carries the watching.
Take over the noticing for one area completely, not just the doing. Stop waiting to be told, and stop telling in that area at all.
Who around you notices work before anybody assigns it?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
