A good decision can still hurt, and a bad decision can still feel good at first.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Feelings are a report on the present moment, not a review of the decision. Leaving something that was wrong for you hurts. Staying in something comfortable and slowly corrosive feels fine for a long while. If you grade choices by how they land emotionally in the first week, you will consistently mistake relief for wisdom and grief for error.
Give good decisions a longer measuring stick. When something you chose carefully feels awful, ask whether it feels awful in the way that fades or the way that compounds. And when something feels easy, check what it is costing quietly. The answer usually shows up in a season, not a day.
