You cannot control every result, but you can stop pretending your decisions play no role.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Two things stay true at once: outcomes are not fully in your hands, and your choices are a real input. People tend to collapse this in one direction or the other, either taking blame for everything or treating their own decisions as bystanders to their own life. Neither view lets you improve anything.
When you review something that went badly, separate the parts. Name what was outside your control and let it be outside your control. Then name the portion that answered to you, however small, and work only on that. It is a narrower target than blaming yourself entirely, and unlike the wider one it can actually be hit.
