Being appreciated for reliability does not make every request yours to accept.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Reliability collects requests. Once people learn that you answer, finish, and turn up, the asking flows toward you, and the praise that comes with it can start to feel like a debt. Being good at something is not the same as owing it endlessly. A refusal from a dependable person does not erase the years of yes.
When the next ask arrives, separate two questions: can you do it, and should you. If the honest answer to the second is no, decline without a long justification. Reliability survives one refusal more easily than you expect.
Which request comes to you only because you always say yes?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
