Fruit picked early does not become sweeter because you were hungry.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Readiness runs on its own schedule, and your appetite is not part of it. A thing taken before it is finished gives you the version that exists, not the version you wanted, and wanting it badly changes nothing about what you actually receive. Hunger explains the reaching. It does not improve the fruit.

When you are tempted to take something early, describe honestly what you would be getting: the half-formed version, the relationship at three weeks, the work before it is any good. If that is genuinely enough, take it. If you are counting on it becoming something it is not yet, your need is doing the choosing, and it is worth waiting until it is not.
