A small kindness repeated deserves to be noticed before it becomes expected.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
Repetition makes things invisible. Whoever always makes the coffee, checks on the neighbor, drives to the station or remembers the birthdays becomes, over a couple of years, simply the weather, and their effort stops registering as effort at all. The shift from noticed to expected happens quietly and is hard to reverse.
Think of someone whose small regular kindness you have come to rely on. Say specifically what they do and that you know it takes something. Do it while it is still a kindness rather than an assumption.
Whose steady small kindness have you started taking for granted?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
