You can step back responsibly by helping the next arrangement become clear.

LEADERSHIP
Stepping back well is a piece of work in itself. Handing something over is not finished when you announce that you are done, because the value you built sits partly in knowledge nobody else has written down, and walking away from that leaves other people to rediscover it slowly. A responsible exit puts the arrangement in order rather than simply ending your part in it.
If you are leaving a role, a rota or a committee, spend an hour writing down what only you know. Name who does what next, and say it out loud to the people affected. Then go, without hovering.
What would you leave behind so your absence costs others little?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
