A hurried mind turns uncertainty into imaginary emergencies.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Speed inside the head manufactures crises. Given uncertainty and no pause, the mind fills the gap with the worst available story and then responds to that story as though it were news. The emergency is real to your body while remaining entirely hypothetical in the world.

When the alarm goes off internally, try asking what has actually happened, stated in plain facts, with no interpretation attached. Usually the fact is small and the reaction is large. Naming the difference does not remove the discomfort, but it stops you from acting on a scenario that has not occurred.
