Tidiness is often treated as a private virtue, a matter of taste or self-discipline. Much of it is actually a message to somebody else: the person who opens the drawer tomorrow, the one who needs the scissors in a hurry, the colleague who arrives at the desk you just left. They will never know you thought of them, and that is part of what makes it kind.
Pick one shared place this week and leave it the way you would want to find it. The test is simple. Could the next person begin without first undoing something you did.
Which shared space do you leave harder for the next person?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
