A calm goodbye can make tomorrow’s return easier.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
How something ends sets the temperature for how it starts again. Leaving on an unfinished argument, a sharp word, or a door closed too hard puts a small weight on the next arrival, and both people carry it without discussing it. The reverse is equally true and much cheaper. An ordinary, unhurried goodbye means tomorrow begins from level ground.
Give the last two minutes of your leaving some attention this week, at the door, on the phone, at the end of a shift. Even when the matter is unresolved, you can part warmly and say you will pick it up later.
Would you like to redo this morning’s goodbye more calmly?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
