A household becomes gentler when rest is allowed to begin at different times.

Shared homes tend to develop an unofficial rule that nobody may sit down until everything is finished. It sounds fair and works out as a race in which one person’s tiredness goes on trial, since stopping first can look like leaving someone else to it. In practice people run out of energy at different hours, and treating that as a scheduling fact rather than a moral one removes a lot of tension from an evening.
Agree on what genuinely has to be done tonight, then let each person stop once their part is done. Rest arriving at different times is not the same as unequal effort.
Who in your home is waiting for permission to stop first?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
