You do not need permission to attempt something people cannot imagine you doing.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Other people’s picture of you is built from limited information and updated slowly. Waiting for their imagination to expand before you act means waiting for something that only expands after you act. There is no approval process, and the sense that there is one is largely inherited.
If there is something you want to attempt that would surprise people who know you, notice that the surprise is theirs to manage. Start quietly if that helps. You do not have to announce it or defend it in advance. The evidence you build will do more to change their picture than any explanation could.
What would surprise the people who think they know you?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
