Offer what you can keep offering, especially when someone has begun relying on it.

Help that stops is harder to absorb than help that never started, because plans have quietly grown around it. Somebody arranged a week, or a budget, or a hope on the assumption that this would keep arriving. Generosity is therefore limited less by kindness than by what you can sustain when you are tired and less inspired than now.
Set your offer at a level you could still keep in a bad month, and say plainly how long it holds. If something must end, give as much warning as you can and help arrange what comes next. Smaller and steady beats generous and unpredictable.
What have you offered someone that you cannot actually keep doing?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
