A decision can be private without being a secret kept against someone.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Privacy and secrecy differ by direction. Something private is simply yours, kept close because it is still forming or because it belongs to nobody else. A secret is withheld from a particular person who would be affected by knowing. The same unshared fact can be either one, and the honest test is whether anyone is being managed by not being told.
When you are unsure which you are holding, ask whether the person would be harmed or blindsided by learning it later. If yes, tell them sooner. If not, you are allowed to keep it to yourself without owing anyone an account of it.
What have you not shared yet because sharing felt like asking permission?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
