The person teaching a child should leave some room for the child to teach back.

CREATIVITY
Teaching runs one way by default, and children learn the direction quickly. If every exchange has you explaining and them receiving, the arrangement itself tells them where knowledge lives and who may hold it. Letting them show you something reverses that for a few minutes. They find out what it takes to make an idea land, and you find out what they actually understood.
Ask a child to teach you something they are good at, and let them run it properly. Be a real beginner, including the questions that are slightly annoying. Resist correcting the method unless it matters, since the point is what happens to them while explaining.
What has a child taught you that you actually let in?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
