The person handling the arrangements may need support after everyone assumes the hard part is over.

The person who organized everything was running on tasks. Calls, papers, arrangements, the endless small decisions that filled every hour and kept the loss at a workable distance. When the last of it is done and everyone else goes home believing the difficult part is over, the structure disappears and what it was holding back arrives with nothing to do.
Check on whoever handled the arrangements a couple of weeks afterward, when the visitors have thinned out. Ask about them rather than about the paperwork. An unremarkable invitation to do something ordinary is often exactly right.
Who organized everything for you and was left alone once it ended?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
