The day went differently; that does not mean you handled all of it badly.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
A day that goes off course invites a single verdict over everything in it. The plan came apart, so the whole thing gets marked down, including the parts where you were patient, quick or kind under pressure. Outcome and conduct are different measurements. One of them was largely out of your hands and the other was not.
Before you close the day, name two things you handled reasonably well, even small ones. Then say what actually went wrong in one sentence, as an event rather than a character note. If something is worth changing, it will be easier to see once the blanket judgment is out of the way.
What went right on a day you have written off completely?
