A process can be consistent while consistently making one kind of life harder.

Uniformity is not the same as fairness, though it is often defended as if it were. A rule applied identically to everybody still lands differently depending on who has a car, a flexible employer, steady health, or somebody at home to wait for the delivery. The process is not being unfair in any given instance; it is unfair in aggregate, to a particular kind of life. That pattern is invisible from inside the rule and obvious from outside it.
Take one procedure you are responsible for and ask who it costs the most. Then change the part that is hardest for them, not the part that is easiest for you.
Which rule you follow makes life harder for certain people?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
