The driver waiting a moment can change the shape of someone’s whole morning.

Small margins at the start of a day propagate. Ten seconds held at a stop is nothing to the person holding it and is the difference, for the passenger running, between arriving and a chain of missed connections, a late arrival, an apology, an hour of catching up. The asymmetry is enormous and entirely invisible from the driver’s seat. Most kindness at scale is made of decisions this size.
Look for the places where a few seconds of yours are worth an hour of somebody else’s. Hold the lift, wait at the door, take the call now rather than tomorrow.
Whose morning could you improve by waiting a few seconds?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
