A remembered kindness can outlast your accurate memory of its giver.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Some things that were done for you have outlived the details of who did them. You remember being helped on a bad day and cannot summon the face or the name, and yet the help is still doing something in you. Kindness detaches from its giver and keeps going. That is a strange kind of survival, and a real one.
If someone helped you once and there is no way to thank them, pass it sideways instead of trying to return it. Do the same thing for whoever is currently in that position. And if you can still name the person, write to them, because they will not know.
Which kindness do you still carry from someone half forgotten?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
