A partner’s steady hand can make a difficult movement feel less lonely.

GRATITUDE
The difficulty does not shrink because someone is holding on. What changes is that the effort stops being solitary, and a great deal of what makes hard things hard is doing them with nobody there. Steadiness is not the same as help. It offers no instruction and solves nothing, and it still alters what the movement costs.
When someone near you is doing something difficult, try offering presence before advice. Stand beside them, hold the thing, come to the appointment. And when you are the one struggling, it is allowed to ask for a hand rather than a solution.
Whose steadiness makes something hard feel possible for you?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
