Comfort is manufactured, usually by people who are not present when it is enjoyed. Water at the right temperature and clarity is the outcome of testing, dosing, filtering, cleaning and early mornings, none of it visible from the shallow end. Anything that feels effortless to use has almost always been made effortless by somebody. The invisibility is the point, which is also why the labour behind it goes unthanked.
