An ordinary visit can keep a relationship from becoming only an idea.

Relationships kept alive entirely at a distance slowly turn into concepts. You have warm feelings, an updated summary of their news and a sense of loyalty, and none of that is quite the same as knowing them. A plain visit with nothing special in it restores the details: how they are in their own kitchen, what they complain about, what the room smells of. Presence supplies the specifics affection alone cannot.
Arrange one unremarkable visit with somebody you are fond of and have not seen. It does not need an occasion, and the absence of one is largely the point.
Who have you meant to see for over a year?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
