Your character should be strong enough to survive anonymity.

Anonymity removes the reward and leaves only the standard. If your good conduct depends on being known for it, then what you have is a reputation strategy that works well and a character that is untested. Being decent where nobody knows your name is the version that would hold anywhere.
Look for a situation this month where you are effectively anonymous and behave exactly as you would among people who know you. In a new city, online, with strangers. It is a small private test, and passing it tells you more about yourself than a great deal of reflection would.
How would you behave in a city where nobody knew you?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
