A display case makes distance look like respect, though the object once needed hands.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Preservation and use pull against each other. Behind glass a thing is safe, admired and completely idle, though it was made to be lifted, worn or worked with, and its meaning came from contact. Reverence at a distance can quietly change what something is, turning a tool into a picture of itself. Protecting an object is not always the same as honouring it.
If you own something too good to use, weigh what the caution is actually protecting. Consider using it once this week for the purpose it was made for. Wear is not the only way a thing gets lost.
What have you preserved so carefully that you stopped using it?
