Evening gives some thoughts permission to speak after the day’s demands grow quieter.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Certain thoughts wait until nothing else is asking for you. All day they are held off by tasks and other people, and when the demands finally stop, whatever you have been avoiding arrives in the quiet, which is why evenings can feel unexpectedly heavy. The hour did not cause the thought. It simply offered the first gap.
If something reliably turns up late at night, give it ten deliberate minutes earlier in the day. Write it down, say it to somebody, take one small action. Attended to in daylight, it usually asks for less after dark.
What surfaces in your evenings that daytime never lets through?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
