The thing you enjoy slowly may be giving you more than the thing you consume quickly.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Speed and satisfaction tend to pull apart. What goes down quickly often leaves the least behind, while the book read over a month, the meal cooked slowly, or the walk taken at its own pace keeps returning to you afterwards. Quantity is easy to measure and the duration of a pleasure is not, so the fast version wins on paper. What stays with you is the better test.
Look back at the last week and ask which hours you can still describe. Give one activity more time than it strictly needs and see whether it repays the difference.
What do you rush through that would reward slowness?
