A curious person can turn almost any experience into education.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Nearly any experience contains something worth knowing if you are inclined to ask. A delayed train, an unfamiliar job, a difficult conversation, a place you did not want to be: each holds information about systems, people, or yourself. What determines whether you get it is not the experience but the attention brought to it.

Try this on something dull this week. Pick a routine or tedious situation and find one thing in it you did not know before. It changes the character of ordinary time, and it costs nothing except the decision to be interested.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What did an ordinary errand teach you recently?
