A celebration becomes more generous when the workers can eat something while making it happen.

Every event has two populations: the people it is for, and the people making it happen. The second group is on their feet for eight hours in a room full of food they are not offered, which is a strange thing to build into a celebration about generosity. Fixing it is not complicated, and it changes the atmosphere of the day: a room where everyone has been fed feels different from one where only the guests have.
If you are arranging something, put the staff’s break and their meal into the plan before anything else. And if you are a guest, thank the people working, since almost nobody does.
Who works through the events you enjoy without being offered anything?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
