A plan can fail emotionally while succeeding exactly as it was described.

LEADERSHIP
Two different tests run on the same plan, and only one of them was written down. The stated version asks whether the steps happened, the budget held, the date was met. The unstated version asks whether you felt what you hoped to feel, and nobody put that on the schedule. A day can pass every visible check and still leave you flat, which is confusing precisely because there is nothing to point at.
When you plan something that matters, say out loud what you want it to feel like. That gives you a chance to design for it, and a fairer way to judge the result.
Has something gone exactly to plan and still left you flat?
