The photograph kept by accident may outlast the carefully chosen portrait.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Survival is not the same as selection. The formal portrait was meant to last and often gets stored somewhere sensible, while the blurred picture from a kitchen ends up in a drawer, on a fridge, inside a book, and surfaces decades later carrying more of the person than the good one does. Chance keeps what nobody was curating. What lasts is frequently what was never important enough to file properly.
Print one ordinary photograph this week and leave it where it will get handled. The unposed ones are what people will want later.
