Your private life determines how much validation your public life needs.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
How much you need from other people is set largely by what is happening when nobody is looking. Someone whose private life is steady and reasonably satisfying does not require much confirmation externally. Someone whose private life is thin will need the public one to carry more than it can.
If you notice you are seeking a lot of confirmation, look at the private side rather than trying to want it less. Something there is probably not being attended to. Improving it directly tends to reduce the external need without any effort spent on the need itself.
How much do you need others to confirm a good day?
