The storm passes at its own pace while people count the damage differently.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
An event ends at one moment for everyone and at a different moment for each person. The wind drops, the news moves on, and the accounting begins privately: one household has a fence to fix and another has lost something that will take years. Shared weather does not mean shared cost.
When something difficult passes through a group, resist assuming that recovery is on a common schedule. Asking how somebody is finding it now, weeks after the event has stopped being news, is often when the question is most useful.
After your last hard season, who was still counting losses?
