Appearance can be settled at a distance; the handle is where an object meets a hand and has to answer for itself. Weight, balance, heat, grip, and whether it works for weaker or smaller hands are all decided there, and none of them show in a photograph. That point of contact is where design either includes people or quietly leaves some of them out.

When you are choosing anything to use rather than to look at, pick it up before deciding. The test is whether it stays comfortable at the end of a long day, not whether it looks right on a shelf.
