The person known for solving problems may need company where nothing has to be solved.

Being the reliable one earns a particular kind of contact: people arrive with something that needs sorting. It is a genuine role, and it can quietly become the only way anybody comes to you. What goes missing is the ordinary company that asks nothing, which is precisely the sort that person is least likely to request.

If somebody in your life is always the fixer, invite them somewhere with no problem attached. If that person is you, try answering the question about how you are before offering to help with theirs.
